Last week, we hiked part of the Snow Mountain trail at Snow Mountain Ranch, in Tabernash, CO. The GPX file of the hike is here (It can be opened in Google Earth). It was a reasonably hard climb with some steep sections. I averaged around 120 BMP heart rate climbing with a peak of just over 150.

Below is a screenshot of the trail and heart rate/elevation graph and a slideshow of all the images (not just the trail, but the whole day we spent at Snow Mountain Ranch). The fall colors were just hitting peak and the weather was warm and sunny.

Our long weekend started Friday and lasted through Monday.  It was marked by a definite change in weather that gave us cooler temps, our first hint of fall.

We did a hike on Goose Creek Trail in the Lost Creek Wilderness.  Below area a few screen shot images of the day assembled using Google Earth.  The full Google Earth KMZ file is here.

These screenshots include an image overlay of the Hayman Fire burn area.  It might not be exact because I had to manually insert the image and size it as best as possible.  This was a significant fire during the summer of 2002.  Our drive route in lime green through the burn area was over dirt roads to the trailhead.

The initial 1/4 mile or so of the hike was through burn area to the canyon floor.  After that, we enjoyed fairly lush vegetation throughout the hike.  For full trail descriptions, I posted content and uploaded our hike to Wikiloc and Everytrail.

We also accomplished a few things around the house, including getting some timbers hauled down the hill to the upper barn.  Images below.
